Agriventure, International Agriculture Exchanges
Farms, ranches, horticulture, veterinary practices in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Japan. Exchange programs can last from four months to over a year. The minimum application requirement time is two months before departure, but it is to your advantage to apply early.
AIESEC
AIESEC is the world's premiere student-run international organization dedicated to increasing cultural understanding and cooperation through running an international paid internship program. We help US companies reach out to young business and IT professionals in over 700 universities worldwide. We also help US students find paid internships abroad in any of four 80+ member countries. We are currently based in 38 locations in the US
BUNAC
This program, run by the British government, operates a rolling application procedure and complete applications are normally processed within two working days of receipt. They provide a work permit prior to departure and job listings in BUNAC offices in England.
Camp Adventure Youth Services
Camp Adventure International - UC Davis students can become camp counselors abroad, receiving Air Fare, Housing plus $22/day. Camp Adventure Youth Services places 800+ college students and recent graduates in Summer and some school year youth development and camp counseling programs on US Military Bases, British Garrisons and some US Embassies in Europe and Asia, including England, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Bahrain, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, and the United States (Hawaii, New York, Florida). Child Family Health International
Created to encourage and facilitate US medical students to work abroad and to learn both lay and medical Spanish. The central philosophy of CFHI is to narrow the gap between existing medical technology and its accessibility to underserved populations. Through this program participants can learn innovative problem-solving skills which can be applied to rural and urban health care areas in the United States.
Child Rights Information Network
The Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) is a global network that disseminates information about the Convention on the Rights of the Child and child rights amongst non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), educational institutions, and other child rights experts. CRIN has a membership of more than 1,100 organizations in over 100 countries. The site contains a directory of organizations working worldwide for children.
Child Workers in Asia
Child Workers in Asia (CWA) was establish in 1985 as a support group for child workers in Asia, and the NGOs working with them. From a small group of five organizations, it now brings together over 50 groups/organizations working on child labor in 14 countries. It facilitates sharing of expertise and experiences between NGOs and strengthens their collaboration to jointly respond to the exploitation of working children in the region.
CII-International Exchange Programme
An invitation to take part in a unique experience of cultural exchange, in which exchange students and graduates share their language and culture with Argentine, Chilean or Spanish students of English in their role of Culture & Language Facilitators at schools or language schools, become involved in a Spanish-speaking community while staying with a family, and learn the language in an intensive Spanish Immersion Programme (optional) and through further Spanish Coaching.
Communicating for Agriculture
Communicating for Agriculture offers agriculture exchanges along with thriving programs in horticulture, equine, and enology as well. The program has over 1000 participants in 43 different countries. CA Exchange Program is now the largest agricultural exchange program in the USA.
Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia
The Consulate General deals with internal affairs of Croatia, and the relations between the US and Croatia. All aspects of foreign interactions are considered from visas and cultural education to trade and establishing American businesses in Croatia. Past interns have worked as translators as answering and making phone calls in a bilingual setting.

Council of International Exchange (CEI)
The C.E.I London was created 20 years ago with the aim of continuing to promote the movement of young people throughout Europe through cultural and linguistic exchange. We are part of a larger organization, the C.E.I - Club des 4 Vents, started more than 50 years ago in France. Today, mastering the English language and acquiring a professional experience abroad are often major requirements for a successful career. With this in mind, the CEI is permanently developing a network of partners aware of the importance of the youth travel market. Our offices are situated in the centre of London, within walking distance of Waterloo Station (Northern, Bakerloo, Jubilee and Waterloo and City lines) and Lambeth North (Bakerloo line)
Council on International Education Exchange
Provides work authorization in numerous countries including Ireland, Canada, France, Costa Rica, Australia, China, etc. There is no formal application deadline. Once CIEE receives a completed application, processing may take up to four weeks. Work permits are provided prior to departure. Job listings and housing vacancies are available at CIEE offices abroad.

The bank provides normal services along with currency exchange and other various internationally related activities. Past interns have worked as currency exchange agents.
Cross Cultural Solutions
Cross-Cultural Solutions is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 and headquartered in New Rochelle, New York, USA. Cross-Cultural Solutions UK is a registered charity and located in Brighton, United Kingdom. Cross-Cultural Solutions operates in 10 countries with more than 250 staff members worldwide. To date, the organization has brought approximately 10,000 participants to countries around the world. Steven Rosenthal founded Cross-Cultural Solutions in 1995 and serves as its Executive Director. Cross-Cultural Solutions offer three types of Programs: Volunteer Abroad, Intern Abroad and Insight Abroad . Gender & Global Issues
The Gender and Global Issues (GGI) Group represents a research, teaching and outreach academic subgroup of the Women and Gender Studies Program at the University of California, Davis. Our interdisciplinary focus on gender issues includes African American and African Studies, Animal Science, Anthropology, Chicana/o Studies, Nutrition, and Sociology. Those who participate in GGI reflect the heterogeneity of the global community in both interests and backgrounds. The Gender and Global Issues programs currently focus on linking professional activist work with the academic research and theory. To this aim, we run a Post-Baccalaureate certificate program, facilitate student internships with grassroots NGOs both locally and internationally, and host occasional events on campus.

IAESTE US Exchange Program (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience)
This exchange program allows US students to work abroad. The companies or organizations offering internships are expected to pay students a wage sufficient to cover their cost of living during the actual training periods. International Cooperative Education (ICE Menlo)
Opportunities for all majors. Internships and housing are arranged. Internship opportunities have included International Economic Development, Health Care, Automotive Engineering (BMW, Porsche, Toyota) Public Relations, Banking, Information Technology, and Business. Countries have included Germany, France, Switzerland, Argentina, Japan, South Africa, Singapore, China and England. Drop by anytime Monday thru Friday between 9am to 4p to room 318 South Hall and read the student reports from sample internships. International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
The Tribunal was established by a United Nations Security Council Resolution in 1994 to prosecute the organizers an leaders of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. The Internship Program is geared towards providing offices at the ICTR with the assistance of students and professionals specializing in fields relevant to the work of the tribunal, such as international relations, law, economics, political science, philosophy, journalism, translation and terminology. Applicants should be currently enrolled in a graduate (Masters or equivalent) or postgraduate (Ph.D./Law) program.
International Language Institute
International Language Institute (ILI) in Halifax, Canada offers Cambridge CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults). CELTA is the world's most honored entry-level credential for teaching ESL or EEL. ILI offers CELTA teacher training in a four-week intensive format.
International Volunteer Program
In Europe and in the United States, the International Volunteer Program has facilitated firsthand cultural understanding for hundreds of volunteers and provided volunteer staffing for more than 100 not-for-profit organizations.

The International Volunteer Programs Association (IVPA) is a new alliance of nonprofit, non-governmental organizations based in the Americas, that are involved in international volunteer and internship exchanges.
JCHIP-Japan Children's Home Internship Program
The Program offers students a unique opportunity to participate in international cultural and educational exchange. The children's homes accepting interns are long-established institutions with years of success preparing Japanese children for productive and successful lives. The homes are not quite orphanages, and not quite group homes; there is no direct English translation. Together with the Japanese staff and native college-student interns, UC Davis interns will share in the lives of school-age youngsters. As an intern from overseas, an important part of a UC Davis intern will be to open the children's eyes to the rest of the world. Eight Children's Homes in different parts of Japan currently accept interns under this program. Homes are located in the following cities: Kita Saitama, Aichi-ken, Yokohama, Kyoto, Fukushima, Kumamoto, and Sendai. Two Interns will be placed in each home.

Located in the hills of Italy, this land of vineyards produces some of Italy's finest wines. Livio Feluga Is a family-owned winery that deals in the production, manufacturing and supplying of wines. Although in a fairly secluded area, this winery enjoys a diverse mixture of employees. Past interns have assisted in management of this winery.
MOGPA: Minnesota Organization for Global Professional Assignments
Specializing in Hong Kong and Asia, this program has a rolling application process and self-managed application. They request that you apply from 3-6 months prior to your desired start date, as the placement process can take anywhere from 3-12 months, depending on your qualifications. You can apply after the three-month deadline, but internships are on a first-come first-served basis, and they may not be able to place you during the period you request.

Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe

Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development (CITD)
Strategically located in the state’s capitol and the heart of Northern California, the Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development (CITD) provides free consulting, research and other low cost seminars and services to enable the region’s exporters and importers to take advantage of the growing opportunities in the global marketplace. Grant funded by the Chancellor’s Office of the California Community Colleges and hosted by Los Rios Community College, the CITD also supports the endeavors of community college faculty to internationalize curriculum in its efforts to prepare students to participate in the global economy. Since its inception in 1990, the Center has served more than 2000 clients and provided international trade information to about 6000 persons and organizations. Like other CITDs, the Center also operates a California Mexico Trade Assistance Center (CMTAC) and is co-located with the Sacramento Small Business Development Center (SBDC), all operating out of Los Rios’ Business and Economic Development Center at 1410 Ethan Way in Sacramento. To enhance client success, the CITD maintains numerous partnerships with other international agencies such as Northern California World Trade Center, USDOC’s Sacramento Export Assistance Center, California Technology Trade and Commerce Agency, Mexican Consulate, California Chamber of Commerce, and many other governmental agencies. US Department of State

USDA Foreign Agricultural Service
The Foreign Agricultural Service's International Internship Program provides college students the opportunity to live and work in a paid internship at an American Embassy overseas. Through work assignments participants learn various aspects of international trade, trade policy, international relations, diplomacy, regional and cultural considerations, etc. Positions are available in Western Europe, Latin America, and Asia. The internship is offered every semester and summer for graduate students and upperclassmen (juniors and seniors).

The Gender and Global Issues (GGI) Group represents a research, teaching and outreach academic subgroup of the Women and Gender Studies Program at the University of California, Davis. Our interdisciplinary focus on gender issues includes African American and African Studies, Animal Science, Anthropology, Chicana/o Studies, Nutrition, and Sociology. Those who participate in GGI reflect the heterogeneity of the global community in both interests and backgrounds. The Gender and Global Issues programs currently focus on linking professional activist work with the academic research and theory. To this aim, we run a Post-Baccalaureate certificate program, facilitate student internships with grassroots NGOs both locally and internationally, and host occasional events on campus.

The Tribunal was established by a United Nations Security Council Resolution in 1994 to prosecute the organizers an leaders of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. Together with the Japanese staff and native college-student interns, UC Davis interns will share in the lives of school-age youngsters. As an international educational agency, ISL organizes medicsl, educational, and adventure teams of volunteers to provide services for the underserved populations of Central and South America, Mexico, Asia and Africa. ISL provides educational opportunities for students from over eighty universities in several countries, but primarily in the United States. It is the goal of ISL to simultaneously provide both educational opportunities for students from developed countries while providing services for developing countries. ISL has education, field biology (zoology, botany, conservation genetics, etc), health, and international service (exploration of foreign countries) internships for students from UC Davis. The ISL website explores these in further detail. Financial help is available for some students.

But with more and more people taking time out on academic and work-related breaks - and with many developing countries in need of self-funded volunteers - our organized volunteer programs have mushroomed around the world. Our volunteers now do a lot more than just teach English. We now have over 20 staff in our offices in Southern England - not far from the university where Peter Slowe (the geographer who founded Projects Abroad ) used to teach. With over 100 trained staff at our destinations, and offering over 80 generic placements and a wide choice within these placements, we are now the leading volunteer placement organization in the US.

International Service Learning
As an international educational agency, ISL organizes medicsl, educational, and adventure teams of volunteers to provide services for the underserved populations of Central and South America, Mexico, Asia and Africa. ISL provides educational opportunities for students from over eighty universities in several countries, but primarily in the United States. It is the goal of ISL to simultaneously provide both educational opportunities for students from developed countries while providing services for developing countries. ISL has education, field biology (zoology, botany, conservation genetics, etc), health, and international service (exploration of foreign countries) internships for students from UC Davis. JCHIP-Japan Children's Home Internship Program
The Program offers students a unique opportunity to participate in international cultural and educational exchange. The children's homes accepting interns are long-established institutions with years of success preparing Japanese children for productive and successful lives. The homes are not quite orphanages, and not quite group homes; there is no direct English translation. Together with the Japanese staff and native college-student interns, UC Davis interns will share in the lives of school-age youngsters. As an intern from overseas, an important part of a UC Davis intern will be to open the children's eyes to the rest of the world. Eight Children's Homes in different parts of Japan currently accept interns under this program. Homes are located in the following cities: Kita Saitama, Aichi-ken, Yokohama, Kyoto, Fukushima, Kumamoto, and Sendai. Two Interns will be placed in each home.
Projects Abroad
Until 1997, Projects Abroad was a small organization with two part-time staff sending university students for work experience teaching placements in Eastern Europe. But with more and more people taking time out on academic and work-related breaks - and with many developing countries in need of self-funded volunteers - our organized volunteer programs have mushroomed around the world. Our volunteers now do a lot more than just teach English. We now have over 20 staff in our offices in Southern England - not far from the university where Peter Slowe (the geographer who founded Projects Abroad ) used to teach. With over 100 trained staff at our destinations, and offering over 80 generic placements and a wide choice within these placements, we are now the leading volunteer placement organization in the US.

UCEP seeks to provide the poor working and illiterate children a chance to break the vicious circle of poverty. The project addresses itself to the educational need of the urban poor children and to the improvement of the overall living conditions for the children and their families.

Volunteer Teams work with partner eye clinics in developing countries to provide eye care and eye health education programs. Central Asia Institute
Central Asia Institute promotes literacy, women's vocational skills, and awareness of public health and environmental issues through community initiated education programs in mountain regions of Central Asia. Community projects are in remote mountain villages of northern Pakistan, the steppes of Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan. Each project involves local people in all phases of projects: to plan, implement and evaluate.

Until 1997, Projects Abroad was a small organization with two part-time staff sending university students for work experience teaching placements in Eastern Europe. But with more and more people taking time out on academic and work-related breaks - and with many developing countries in need of self-funded volunteers - our organized volunteer programs have mushroomed around the world. Our volunteers now do a lot more than just teach English. We now have over 20 staff in our offices in Southern England - not far from the university where Peter Slowe (the geographer who founded Projects Abroad ) used to teach. The children's homes accepting interns are long-established institutions with years of success preparing Japanese children for productive and successful lives. The homes are not quite orphanages, and not quite group homes; there is no direct English translation. Together with the Japanese staff and native college-student interns, UC Davis interns will share in the lives of school-age youngsters. As an intern from overseas, an important part of a UC Davis intern will be to open the children's eyes to the rest of the world. Eight Children's Homes in different parts of Japan currently accept interns under this program. Homes are located in the following cities: Kita Saitama, Aichi-ken, Yokohama, Kyoto, Fukushima, Kumamoto, and Sendai. Two Interns will be placed in each home.

Until 1997, Projects Abroad was a small organization with two part-time staff sending university students for work experience teaching placements in Eastern Europe. But with more and more people taking time out on academic and work-related breaks - and with many developing countries in need of self-funded volunteers - our organized volunteer programs have mushroomed around the world. Our volunteers now do a lot more than just teach English. We now have over 20 staff in our offices in Southern England - not far from the university where Peter Slowe (the geographer who founded Projects Abroad ) used to teach. With over 100 trained staff at our destinations, and offering over 80 generic placements and a wide choice within these placements, we are now the leading volunteer placement organization in the US.

Our Volunteer Abroad and Intern Abroad Programs are year-round, and normally range from 2-12 weeks. We have programs in Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Peru, Russia, Tanzania and Thailand. Our Insight Abroad program is one week and is available in Brazil and Costa Rica .

Since establishing in 1998, the Foundation for International Education (FIE) has set new high standards in delivering study and intern abroad programmes. We are a forward-thinking organisation with a mission that expresses our passionate belief in the value of international education. We offer all the academic and student support services through which exceptional learning experiences are created. Foundation for Sustainable Development
The Foundation for Sustainable Development was founded in 1995 to support the efforts of local development organizations working to improve the welfare of the people living in their communities. FSD provides these grassroots organizations with human resources, financial resources, and technical assistance. Our primary goal is to increase their capacity to serve their communities. In striving to achieve this goal, other benefits emerge: we raise awareness of the challenges faced by those in the developing world, we train the development leaders of tomorrow, and we facilitate increased cross-cultural understanding.
